Who We Are

A Community
Built on Faith

City Blessing Church began in the early 1980s as a small fellowship of Indonesian college students in Los Angeles — meeting in apartments, filled with the Holy Spirit, and growing in number. Today, CBC Walnut is a vibrant international church, home to children, young people, families, and the elderly of all backgrounds.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14

Led by Senior Pastor Dr. Paul Tan and Pastor Joyce Tan, our congregation gathers at Miracle Hill — a campus that stands as a testimony to God's provision and faithfulness.

Our Journey

Decades of God's Faithfulness

1980s – 1992 · Beginnings

A Small Fellowship in LA

City Blessing Church began as a small fellowship of Indonesian college students meeting in apartments in Los Angeles, filled with the Holy Spirit and a passion for Jesus Christ. As they grew, they raised funds miraculously to purchase their first building in Claremont — completely debt-free.

1993 – 2012 · Growth

Expanding to All Nations

Opening in Claremont in April 1993, the church expanded its mission beyond the Indonesian community to people of all nations. English services were added, multiple campuses were established — San Bernardino, San Diego, and Temple City — reaching thousands across Southern California.

December 31, 2012 · Consolidation

Welcome to Miracle Hill, Walnut

After two years of prayer and Godly counsel, the Claremont and Temple City campuses consolidated at a new property on a private road called Miracle Hill Street — fulfilling God's prophetic promise: "Consolidate. There will be room to build."

2013 – Present · Today

Transforming Communities

CBC Walnut now hosts two Sunday services with a growing multi-ethnic congregation. The Training Center dedicated in August 2025 stands as the latest fulfillment of God's promise — a place to raise the next generation of disciples and leaders.
